Job Description

* Supervise a team of editors to populate Yahoo!’s News pages with its subcategories: business, entertainment and sports… etc with fresh, compelling and relevant content and making sure that our mobile pages offer a matching experience
* Maintain events diary and planning and executing event programming in consultation with producers and editors within the region.
* Making relevant editorial choices, crafting appealing headlines and teaser copy, choosing and prepare appropriate imagery.
* Creat user experiences which encourage repeat use and adoption
* Understanding the Yahoo! audience, and its interests, and feeding these back into product plans and tactics
* Manage competing priorities, budgeting time
* Providing editorial support where required, particularly on ancillary or support service pages and instructional content
* Contribute ideas to the content and product development process
* Contribute ideas on commissioning and content acquisition to the managing editor and the business development team.
* Provide and edit articles and content on a daily basis, develop feature and special execution ideas.
* Meet targets and deliver on daily traffic performance indicators
* Work closely with internal sales, product and marketing teams as well as external content partners.
* Identify new content sources and support business development on content acquisition
* Reports to Editor in Chief for Yahoo! Arabic portal.
