CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF PUNJAB, BATHINDA

The University invites the applications for the post of Associates Professor on purely temporary and on contract basis for one year or till the positions are filled up on regular basis whichever is earlier.


POSITION AVAILABLE:

Comparative Literature (Assistant Professors other than Punjabi and Hindi)

Medium of Instruction: ENGLISH

Assistant Professor: Pay scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus GP of Rs. 6000/-
(As per UGC guidelines)

Free Accommodation: Depending upon availability, partly furnished transit accommodation at campus may be given to faculty free of cost for three months on sharing basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: For Professor and Associates Professor (On deputation) as per UGC guidelines.

For Assistant Professor: NET/SLET*+ Ph.D. is the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment.

a)ESSENTIAL:

Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level, in the relevant subject, in the concerned area from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

* However, the candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempt from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professor”. b)EXPLANATION:

The term ‘good academic record’ would imply the following:

i) At least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) or an equivalent grade at Master’s degree level; And
ii) At least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/ Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) at the graduation level; Or At least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/ Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) in Honours at the graduation level.

NOTE: A relaxation of 5% is admissible from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
