Deadline: 2 May 2011
Great food, interesting people, beautiful scenery-these are the things that propel you to share your travels with the world. Writing about your travels gives your reader a vivid picture of the places you've been to and the experiences you've had, and inspires them to take the journey to experience it themselves.
This May, the Filipinas Heritage Library invites budding travel writers to learn the basics of travel writing for various platforms and mediums while celebrating one of the Philippine's most colorful festivals-the Pahiyas Festival. Understand the difference between print and online writing, and gain insights from travel magazine publishers while taking inspiration from the gaily decorated houses in Lucban, Quezon.
The workshop lecturer, Ms. Kristine Fonacier, is the contributing editor for the newly launched Philippine edition of Lonely Planet magazine. She was the former editor in-chief of MTV Ink and music editor for Pulp Magazine.
The workshop fee is P 4,500 inclusive of workshop handouts and materials, tour, transportation, handouts, materials, meals, and a certificate. A down payment of P 2,000 is required for slot reservation. The deadline for reservations is May 2, 2011. A 5 percent discount will be given to those who pay in full on or before the deadline.
Payments can be made in cash, check, or through credit card.
*Discount does not apply to credit card transactions. For more details about the library's workshops, please check the Filipinas Heritage Library website.
