The ROCKET is the party newsletter for the Democratic Action Party (DAP). It is published monthly in 3 languages, English, Malay and Chinese, and occasionally in Tamil. The objective of the newsletter is to be able to provide Malaysians with a better understanding of both the political environment in Malaysia as well as the policies and comments by our party leaders.
DAP is a political party in Malaysia with a history of more than 40 years, and currently plays a major role in governing the states of Penang and Selangor. As part of our expansion plans, we are looking to recruit intelligent, young and dynamic individuals to join our team to make The Rocket one of the most successful and respected party newsletters in Malaysia. We are looking for JOURNALISTS and WRITERS for the English and Malay editions.
Journalist / Writer (Petaling Jaya)
Responsibilities:
* You will be responsible for writing and producing articles for the English or Malay edition of the Rocket publications, both online and print.
* You should be able to work independently to secure news or identify topics which will be of interest to our readers. At the same time, you will also peruse the statements of our leaders to identify newsworthy stories.
* You will also need to be adept with the camera to take pictures for the respective publications at various events and activities to ensure a colourful and picturesque presentation on the newsletters.
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in any field.
* Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
* Optional language(s): Tamil, Chinese
* Applicants must be willing to work in Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya.
* Full-Time positions available.
* Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
