The company provides property & casualty insurance professionals an integrated analytics and information platform. It is best-known in the global insurance marketplace for its daily email newsletters – know as Front Page News.
One of the most dynamic and rapidly growing areas of the company is its Research and Editorial Group. This group is introducing new editions of Front Page News, new Journals, Webinars, Conferences, surveys and sponsored content produced for customers. The foundation of the company's success is the production of engaging content that combines technical substance with proprietary data. While virtually all of the editorial content the company develops is designed to meet the needs of insurance professionals, they range widely in their structure and focus.
To meet this growing demand, the company is looking for an additional to the editorial staff for writing industry reports. This new employee will be responsible for the research and writing of content.
Industry Report Writer
Position Summary:
Based in Manila, the Industry Report Writer will work with the Senior Industry Editor located in the U.S. The writer will research and write a qualitative analysis, including an industry description, characteristics, top competitors, revenue drivers, cost structure, merger & acquisition (M&A) activities, trends, pressure points, and growth opportunities.
Experience:
Experience as an industry analyst or a business journalist is a strong plus, but not essential. We appreciate that the successful candidates will be engaged in a long-term process of learning about analyzing, researching and writing industry reports.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Strong writing skills in “American” English (required)
* Understanding of general business issues (required)
* Strong research skills (required)
* Strong analytical skills (required)
* Understanding of economic principles (required)
* Understanding of basic financial accounting terms (required)
* Ability to grasp industry-specific issues for a wide variety of industries and describe them to a general insurance-professional audience (desired)
* Background in business journalism or as an industry analyst (desired)
* Degree in economics or business (desired)
