The Brunei Times Essay Writing Competition 2011

THE Brunei Times is organising an essay writing competition in conjunction with the 2011 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Golden Jubilee celebration on May 31.

The competition is divided into three categories: primary, secondary and open.


In line with the RBAF anniversary, the essay topic for the primary category is ''Why I love the Royal Brunei Armed Forces''. Entries should be no longer than 200 words.

Entries for the secondary category will be on the topic ''What role I see for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces'' and should be no more than 400 words.

The Open category tackles the topic ''Brunei's defence and non-traditional challenges''. Essays submitted must be between 600 and 800 words.

The prizes are sponsored by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Multitrons Sdn Bhd, The Empire Hotel & Country Club and Concepts Computer. The details of prizes will be announced soon.

The closing date for submission of entries is July 31, 2011.
