Publications Specialist, Editor, Marketing and Publications Department, Dubai
The Opportunity
Zayed University seeks a Publications Specialist/Editor to provide oversight and content creation for the production of publications and other informative materials that create visibility for the University. These publications and materials are required in both English and in Arabic.
The Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Publications Manager, the Publications Specialist will work closely with individual University Departments, Colleges and Units to develop content of brochures, flyers and various publications as needed. The incumbent will
· lead the development of the University Magazine (Arabic and English); recruiting and coordinating submissions, editing and/or creating content, managing translation, overseeing layout, printing and distribution
· monitor workflow of projects and manage delivery timelines by staff, vendors and printers
· play a lead role in the development of the University catalogue, coordinating content with faculty and administrators, editing and layout, printing and distribution
· provide publication support for events by creating content for invitations, programs, advertisements, videos, web content and other information through to design and implementation
· assist the Web Content Developer in monitoring and creating content for the University website (in both Arabic and English)
The Requirements
· must possess a Masters Degree from an accredited institution
· at least five years’ experience in public relations, publications or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, skills or experience
· must have a superior command of both written and oral English and Arabic
· must be highly computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Office Suite
Preferred Requirements
· experience in a university environment would be helpful
· knowledge of graphic design software would be an asset
