The Role
Bloomberg News is seeking a reporter to cover the biggest energy companies in Asia. Successful candidates will be expected to break news on mergers and acquisitions, identify industry trends and expand our coverage in the world's fastest-growing region, with a special focus on Greater China. Industries include oil, natural gas, nuclear power, coal and renewable energy. Reporters will also write features and profile top executives, policy makers, traders, strategists and investors. Candidates should be self-driven, passionate about energy and telling the best stories, dedicated to excellence and motivated by a sense of ownership in covering a booming industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Journalism qualification is desirable
- Several years with news agencies, newspapers or relevant industry journals
- Experience of working in a real-time news environment is a plus
- Proven ability to break news and make contacts without close supervision
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential; ability to speak Cantonese would be an advantage
