The International Fajr Poetry Festival will host 17 Persian language poets and professors from different countries including Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkey, China, Azerbaijan, Iraq's Kurdistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Sudan as well as India. The festival opens today Saturday, February 26, at Iran's National Library.
Poetry recitation by Iranian poets has been arranged for the opening day. Workshops on contemporary literature and review sessions on contemporary poetry are among the side section programs. Activities for day two will be held at the Alborz Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the city of Karaj near Tehran. The guests will also be visiting the Carpet Museum of Iran in Tehran.
Four different categories have been assigned to the festival this year: classic, modern, children and young adults, and songs. The programs will continue in other locations in Tehran, and closing day will be on March 1 in Vahdat Hall.
