Proofreader / Editor (National Capital Reg)
Responsibilities:
* Assists the Managing Editors in handling projects
* Guides the Authors in conceptualizing and planning the content of books; Suggests titles of textbooks
* Reads, proofs and/or supervises the proofreading of materials.
* Edits material for accuracy, style and readability; Recommends changes when necessary.
* Reads typescript (original copy) or proof of type setup to detect and mark for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional error
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Education/Teaching/Training or equivalent.
* At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Journalist/Editor or equivalent.
* Has good command of English, particularly grammar and spelling
* Adept in different subject areas
* Knowledge and skill in language required for editing and proofing of written material
* Skill in organizing work and meeting deadlines
* Work Experience in an educational publishing house and/or academic institution is an advantage
