Editor / Junior Editor (Singapore)

Responsibilities:

The Junior/ Sub-Editor is a core member of the editorial and creative teams, and works closely with the director, publishing manager, feature writers, and sales manager on refining editorial content of Cuisine and Wine Asia and all other related printed and digital publications. You will assist the Publishing Manager in supervising the teams of designers and writers. You will brainstorm and develop ideas for upcoming issues of the magazine and regularly contribute editorial content.

You will oversee production of the publication, including artwork, layout, computer typesetting and printing. Ensure adherence to deadlines and budget requirements. Confer with management and editorial staff members regarding placement and emphasis of developing new stories. Assign topics, events and projects to individual writers for coverage. Monitor news-gathering operations to ensure utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, e-newsletters from the industry and telephone contacts etc.

Requirements:

* Degree holder or above in Communications / Journalism
* Bilingual in written English and Chinese (for business purposes)
* Minimum 4 years of relevant and independent writing / editorial and editing experience in magazine and web content coordination / production preferred
* Publishing/F&B/Hotel/Restaurant background will be an advantage
* Passion for food and wine
* Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Mac Applications
* Self-motivated, team player, committed to deadlines and results-oriented
* Ability to work under pressure, short deadlines and extra hours if needed
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines / tasks in a fairly organized manner
* Able to start work immediately or on short notice
* Travel may be required
