JOB DESCRIPTION
Candidates who are Located in DELHI/NCR only need to apply. The job involves, Sourcing, Re- writing and Formatting the news. The person should have sense of news.
Ensuring that the pages conform to the standard lay-out (font types, font sizes, etc) & that the edition carries the correct date, edition number, weather format, marine news summary, and marine safety news.
Ensuring that the pages assigned are grammatically and typographically correct and use the correct type of English (American or British), as per the NL style sheet. Checking whether the stories on the template are in proper order in terms of importance & whether the sentences used in the stories are clear and simple enough to be understood by majority of our subscribers.
The necessary corrections are made by the final-checker on the template. Ensuring that the lay-out remains consistent & convert the template into text files.
Sending the text files (or the html files when necessary) to the IT Department, wait for the IT's confirmation that the edition/s sent are okay. Make the corrections when necessary & send the edition/s again and wait for confirmation.
Maintaining & daily updating register with the team members regarding number of pages made.
Cooperate with the rest of the editors to ensure that all editions are properly done and submitted on time.
Contribute to the story data bank
Proficiency in computers is a must.
