Deadline: 31 March 2011
Overview
Over the past two decades, the National Arts Council (NAC) has been awarding scholarships and bursaries to nurture artistic talents and leaders in the arts and cultural industry. Coupled with the establishment of new arts infrastructure and institutions, the local arts scene has seen a significant increase in the number of performing and visual arts activities, as well as the number of arts companies and societies in Singapore.
With new public and private sector developments such as the National Art Gallery and Art Stage Singapore, and a growing demand for the arts in education, community, entertainment and other creative sectors, the Council anticipates a growing need for qualified practitioners across art forms. This could be in traditional or contemporary genres, playing a crucial role onstage or behind the scenes. Some of the critical roles NAC expects will be in arts management, performance, production design and management, curatorship, creative writing, arts education, research and criticism, among others.

The NAC’s scholarship and bursary schemes aim to nurture talents with creative potential and leadership qualities, committed to pursue a career in the arts and to advance Singapore’s arts and cultural industry.
