The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development is preparing to launch the third edition of the short story competition during January where the judges of the competition are working on modifying and developing this competition in all categories in order to enhance the overall level of the competition and enable the largest number of artists to participate.

The contest will open during the month of January to support local innovation and encourage the energies and talents through supporting the publication and distribution of local books whether a story or a novel. The ministry is aware of the importance of what is going on in the UAE cultural scene and the cultural mobility which has been recognized in various countries in the region and throughout the Arab countries.

The ministry hopes that the third session of short story competition attracts the largest number of young energetic creative’s. After the competition has proven in its previous sessions its ability to achieve the desired goals, either in the discovery of new writers or by producing a cultural product that meets the objectives of the ministry to spread the spirit of belonging and to highlight the authentic UAE values.

The ministry aims through the competition to evolve this project to publish the largest number of literary output in the UAE for Arabs and other residents until the project the real core to release everything related to creativity in the writing of a short story explaining that the work participating in the Competition is subject to reading by a specialized jury of academics and cultural and creative specialists work to select creative works from other many works.
