The Dukhan English School is an international school located in Dukhan, Qatar, following the British Curriculum. The school is owned and managed by Qatar Petroleum and serves about 1200 students aged 3 to 18. The School
Dukhan English School (DES) was established over 50 years ago to provide education for the children of Qatar petroleum employees resident in Dukhan. DES is a non-selective co educational day school. Since 2005 the school roll has increased dramatically. Today more than 1,100 student’s aged 3 to 18 and representing 32 different nationalities attend DES. The school also boasts of a faculty of over 140 teachers and support staff. The vast majority of teachers are British nationals with UK training. The school week runs from Sunday to Thursday, the weekend being Friday and Saturday. The school day begins at 7:15 am and ends at approximately 2:30 pm. In year 9 the students sit British curriculum SATS examinations, in years 10 and 11 GCSE, IGCSE and BTEC examinations are taken. Sixth form students currently take GCSE’s, AS and A2 examinations.
Candidates interested in this position must be Qualified Teachers with relevant qualifications and experienced in the British National Curriculum or equivalent.
