Be part of a pioneering multi-media newsroom, spanning radio, TV, print and interactive media. We are looking for an outgoing and dynamic individual with the ability to generate ideas for business, financial and technology news, has a flair for writing and editing stories and a sound knowledge of local & global business and corporate development as well as the current and future trends.

Requirements

· Good degree with at least 2 years of experience in similar capacity

· Able to guide team members on a daily basis on stories angling and to ensure high standard of stories

· Excellent editorial and co-ordination skill to clear and edit stories and to enforce deadlines of assignment

· Excellent command of the English Language. Other language an advantage

· Ability to exercise individual judgment, and work well under pressure to meet deadline

· Possess good analytical skill, initiative and resourcefulness

· Be prepared to work irregular hours and weekends

Responsibilities

· Work closely with clients and sales colleagues to conceptualise, develop and produce advertorials, supplements and other commercial projects

· Lead and manage team of writers, sub-editors and designers to produce editorial content, advertorials, supplements and related projects

· Explore new commercial opportunities for the newspaper

· Ensure that commercial considerations do not compromise the editorial integrity of the paper

Requirements

· A university degree

· At least 8 years of journalism experience in print media, with exposure to the commercial side of the print business

· Excellent command of the English language

· Good writing and editing skills

· Strong people management and motivation skills

· Possess good analytical skill, initiative and resourcefulness

· Strong news sense and story-angling skills

· Exercise individual judgment, work effectively under pressure

· Excellent relationship management, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills

· Acute understanding of advertiser-media relationship

· Keen awareness of the need to balance editorial and commercial considerations

· Able to work independently and with colleagues from other departments
