The DSC Jaipur Literature Festival, Asia’s largest literary festival, is held every year for 5 days from 21 – 25 January in Jaipur, India.

The DSC Jaipur Literature Festival considered Asia’s leading literature event is a celebration of national and international writers and encompasses a range of activities including poetry, music & dance, film, exhibitions and workshops. Entering its sixth year, the festival has already hosted some of the best-known national and international writers & personalities including Ian McEwan, Vikram Seth, Niall Ferguson, Roberto Calasso, Roddy Doyle, Lawrence Wright, Kiran Desai, Wole Soyinka, Salman Rushdie,Amitabh Bachchan, Pico Iyer, Simon Schama, Thomas Keneally, Hanif Kureishi, Vikram Chandra, Fatima Bhutto, Michael Frayn, Stephen Frears, Alexander McCall Smith, Donna Tartt, Tina Brown, Shashi Tharoor, Amir Khan, Dev Anand, Mohammed Hanif, Paul Zacharia, John Berendt, Christopher Hampton, Nadeem Aslam among many others.

The Festival has over the years showcased various national & international artistes such as Susheela Raman and Sam Mills from the UK; Anoushka Shankar & Mrigya from India, Titi Robin (World Music) from France; Shah Jo Raag: The Sufi Qawalls from Sindh from Pakistan; Salman Ahamad (Junoon Unplugged) from Pakistan, Shye Ben Tzur from Israel/India, Cheb I Sabbah from Algeria, Paban Das Baul and the Bauls from India; Rajasthan Roots – a collective of folk musicians, and many more.

The festival is free and open to all. No prior registration is required. All you need to do is turn up! However, you may choose to become a delegate and avail some benefits at special rates. (Read more about this on the Delegate page).
