Vacancy: Subtitle Editor for SDI Media HK
SDI Media is the world’s largest supplier of subtitling and dubbing services for the television, film, home video, interactive and mobile industries. Subtitle Editor (English)

Requirements:

* Degree holder, preferably majoring in English, linguistics or communications
* Near-native level English speaker who is well-versed in various accents
* Strong grammar and aural skills, with ability to accurately transcribe spoken dialogue of a vast array of content
* Ability to read and understand Chinese
* Fast learner who is comfortable with technology
* Able to work independently and efficiently under time constraints
* Interested in diverse media, such as movies, TV drama and documentaries

Duties:

* Transcribing television programs into documents and subtitles
* Deciphering hard to make out speech in media
* Proofreading scripts against English media to ensure accuracy
* Verifying English translations against Chinese media or scripts
