Managing Editor (National Capital Reg - Quezon City)
Responsibilities:
* Contributes to team effort and acts as the group advisor in reminding schedules and deadlines
* Assists the Production Manager in planning, decision making and evaluating staff
* Delegates work assignments; Supervises activities of subordinates
* Reviews proposals and manuscripts submitted by prospective Authors
* Guides the Authors in conceptualizing and planning the content of books; Suggests titles of textbooks
* Edits material for accuracy, style and readability; Recommends changes when necessary.
* Monitors and coordinates the illustrations, layout and preparation of the textbooks
* Reads, proofs and/or supervises the proofreading of materials.
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , any field.
* At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in Journalist/Editor or equivalent.
* Has good command of English, particularly grammar and spelling
* Adept in different subject areas
* Knowledge in supervisory practices and principles
* Knowledge and skill in language required for editing and proofing of written material
* Skill in organizing work and meeting deadlines
* Work Experience in an educational publishing house and/or academic institution is an advantage
