Vacancy: Journalist/ Reporter for Australian Chinese Daily
Journalist/Reporter (Full-Time)

Australian Chinese Daily, one of Australia’s leading national ethnic Chinese newspapers, has an opportunity for a high calibre journalist to join a well-established team.

Your primary responsibility will be to research, source and produce CHINESE articles relevant to the publication.

Working in a dynamic news environment, you must demonstrate or possess the following to be successful in this highly competitive market:

* An eye to spot for potential articles and stories
* Building and maintaining industry contacts
* Reacting swiftly to developing events
* Ability to write creatively

We are looking for a candidate with existing news writing and reporting experience who does not mind the occasional face to face contact with potential interviewees.

Knowledge of advertising, news publications and an understanding of social media is preferred, although not essential.

Experience in sub-editing and proof-reading will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will possess:

* Tertiary qualifications in journalism or similar disciplines
* Minimum 1 year relevant experience
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
* Superb time management skills and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
* Proficient in Chinese word processing software
* Ability to think outside the box
* A passion to have work published
