Responsible for the quality of English language content in a variety of press releases, publications, speeches and internal communications, you will manage writers within the Communications department, across divisions. You will assist in the development of the University Public and Media Relations and overall Communications strategies, and play a leading role in planning and managing their execution.
In this complex and challenging role, your assignments will vary from writing the University’s most important documents, publications and statements, through to handling queries from the media and the public, to consulting with the Executive on the development of key messages and speeches. From personal craftsmanship to expert supervision of others, you will enjoy a pivotal impact on the writing, language and tone of our English language communications.
Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline, you have a proven track record in journalism, public relations or communications, with experience in a Gulf higher education / public service / governmental environment. Equally effective working in both informal and highly official settings, you have a demonstrable ability to prepare communications for use by top tier executives concerning sensitive topics or information. A skilled critical thinker, you have robust knowledge of Saudi and Middle Eastern history and culture. Arabic communication skills would also be an advantage.
