The DQ Powerkidz story and script writing competition is a talent search being conducted by DQ Entertainment, the animation, gaming and live action entertainment group, on an all India basis
The entries will be judged by a jury consisting of distinguished personalities from the media and entertainment industry. Five best story writers will be short listed and invited to attend a two day fun-filled interactive Children's audio-visual fiesta which will include Visual arts, animation, Theatre and Creative workshops along with interactive brainstorming sessions for the children to be held at Hyderabad in January-February 2011.
The winning entry of DQ Powerkidz contest will be converted into a short film enacted by the writer as well as other supporting cast members selected by DQE. This will be sent for onward submission to the Ciak Junior Film festival - an international contest held in Treviso, Italy ( http://www.alcuni.it/index.php?about-ciak-junior). The winner of the DQ Power Kidz talent search contest will also be sponsored to represent the film in Treviso, Italy.
Films based on stories written by children from various countries such as Belgium, Chile, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, China, Portugal, Senegal, Slovakia, Spain, India, Switzerland, Bulgaria and South Africa, between the age group of 10 -15 years have participated in the Ciak junior festival each year. DQE has participated in this Film Festival in the past and has been the recipient of the 'UNESCO Gandhi jury award' and the 'best story award' at this prestigious event.

Eligibility:
1. The competition is open to students in the age group of 10-15 years (both inclusive) as on 1st JAN 2011. There is no entrance fee for the contest.
2. The story must be an original one; none of its part must be copied thereof. The story can be based on any topic.
3. 4- 5 students can form a team and write a story. All team members must meet the eligibility requirements.
4. All the participating schools will be responsible for sending their 5 (max) best entries to DQE in the entry form as provided by DQE. Once the entries are sent to DQE, no substitution of entries shall be allowed thereafter.
5. All the entry forms must be completely and accurately filled up. Inconsistent or incomplete entry forms will be rejected. All the entries should BE submitted latest by 30th January 2011.
6. Winning participants will be informed through mail/telephone/letter as may be decided by DQE.
7. The decision of the Jury/DQE will be final and binding on all the participants.
8. In the case where a team is writing the story, only the winning team leader is entitled to attend the Powerkidz Fun Fiesta and the Ciak Junior Film Festival in Italy.
9. The writer/s of the winning story will be provided the opportunity to act in the shortfilm based on the story to be made by DQE.
10. All the entries received by DQE during the contest will become the exclusive property of DQE and the participants shall have no claim, whatsoever, over the same. DQE can exploit all the rights pertaining to the said script as it wishes, in any and all media and by any and all manner or means now known or thereafter devised, for any purpose, without any limitation.
11. Contestants who violate these guidelines, tamper with the operation of the Contest, or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to DQE, the Contest, or any other entrant (in each case, as determined in Jury’s/ DQE’s sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from entry into the Contest. DQE shall not be held responsible and liable for violation of any third party rights.
12. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DQE reserves the right to change these guidelines/other contest rules or cancel the Contest/event at any time, in its sole discretion.
13. DQE will not be responsible for any accidental injury that occurs during the event.
14. All the entries being sent by Post should be superscribed “Powerkidz Fun Fiesta” and reach DQ Entertainment ltd, 644 Aurora Colony, Road no 3, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034 , on or before 30th Jan 2011,
