Call for Documentary Film Proposals: Public Service Broadcasting Trust India

29 November 2010
Call for Documentary Film Proposals: Public Service Broadcasting Trust India
Deadline: 15 December 2010

We are currently inviting proposals for documentary films of 26 and 52 minutes duration. There is no formal commissioning brief and proposals are invited on any theme representing filmmakers' personal passions and interests.

PSBT is awaiting confirmation on funding for a project on The Story of India - an exploration of India's rich civilisational heritage and its value to contemporary issues and predicaments juxtaposed with journeys through modern India, rapidly emerging as a global leader. This will be intended to project India's image in the world. Filmmakers may also consider submitting proposals on these lines. In the event of this funding coming through, a few exceptional proposals may also be considered for commissioning in High Definition. Filmmakers are invited to submit budgets, if they so wish, for all four options – 26 min., 52 min., 26 min. in HD and 52 min. in HD. PSBT may also consider co-productions with other partners under this project.

Filmmakers will be provided a maximum of nine months to complete the Film.

KINDLY READ THE NOTES BELOW AND ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL:

Filmmakers are requested to submit only ONE proposal for consideration.

Proposals will be accepted only in the FORMAT PRESCRIBED by PSBT, available on this website below. No hard copies will be accepted.

Please ensure that you read all the associated documents – Idea Submission Agreement, Draft Contract, Sample Budget, List of Deliverables, etc. before you propose a Film and budget.

All fields in the Form are mandatory. Incomplete Forms will not be accepted.

Shortlisted filmmakers may be requested to elaborate on the submitted proposal and budget, for further consideration. They could be requested to pitch their proposal before a panel in Delhi. The subject and budget presented in the detailed proposal should not be at variance with the one being submitted now.

Please do not send any sample work yet. We will request it, if and when required, for further consideration of your Proposal.

PSBT is not liable for any proposals that do not reach us/ or do not reach us on time. If you do not receive a reference number upon submitting your form, your Proposal has not reached us. If you do not receive an acknowledgement from us within ten working days of submitting your Proposal, please resend it and contact us at proposals@psbt.org

If you are currently doing a Film for PSBT, you are eligible to apply only if your Rough Cut has been submitted or will be before the end of this Call. Please note that if the Rough Cut is not submitted, the submitted proposal will not be considered.

PSBT is committed to supporting Indian Filmmakers, ordinarily resident in India.
