We are looking for an experienced, aggressive reporter to cover a wide range of stories across India.
The position, which is based in Mumbai, will require that most elusive of journalistic qualities: the total all-rounder, who can break news about companies and deals in Mumbai, deliver front page stories about important issues that help define the world’s largest democracy for both a foreign and Indian audience, throw off colorful features, crank out blog posts and record a quick video.
The core of the job will be India, with a major in corporate news, finance, development, Bollywood, and autos.
The ideal candidate will also help oversee the bureau’s coverage of the region, particularly Afghanistan during what will be another very important year for the U.S. campaign.
We realize not every candidate will bring all these attributes to the table and we are flexible in aspects of it. But bottom line, we are looking for an experienced journalist with extraordinary drive and versatility to help drive coverage in an area that is vital to the paper’s overseas expansion.
