Research Editor - English/Japanese

The role of the Research Editor is to research and load onto the Dow Jones Watchlist editorial interface accurate, high-quality records of influential people who meet specified coverage criteria. The editor is required to update profiles when necessary and to ensure that volume targets are met. The editor should also have the ability to identify wholly with Dow Jones's service obligations to its clients.

The editor is required to monitor relevant news from a portfolio of countries in order to identify individuals who meet our "Special Interest" criteria. In extracting data from a range of sources the editor must adhere to a set of guidelines on SIP selection while having a thorough understanding of the non-SIP elements of the Dow Jones Watchlist database. The editor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the material he/she and other team members add to the database by following an established set of procedures. This role can be home-based.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

* Strong knowledge of (and interest in) international affairs and issues relating to financial, political and social events.
* At least 2 years of research or editorial experience, with tenacity and ingenuity in the pursuit of sources.
* Education to degree level and strong command of English.
* Fluency in Japanese (minimum JLPT 2 / N2) required.
* Excellent web searching, proof reading and organisational skills
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to handle large volumes of information and meet deadlines.
* Team-player and ability to accept feedback as a learning opportunity.
* Positive outlook on change, self motivated, flexible and adaptable to work outside a traditional office environment independently.
