We are currently looking for a Managing Editor - Asia Petrochemicals who would be responsible for the day-to-day running of the news and price reporting on the entire petrochemicals complex in the region, including China, India and Saudi Arabia. With responsibility for such a broad geographic area and many emerging markets, the Managing Editor also plays a very important role in conceptualizing strategy. He or she must constantly review our coverage, solicit and interpret feedback from readers, and work with the Global Editorial Director for Petrochemicals to constantly review, develop and execute our medium range plan for growing the petrochemicals group in not only the "traditional" markets of Southeast Asia (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia) and North Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong) but also the emerging markets of China, India, the Middle East, and Vietnam.
* BA degree in journalism or business preferred with approximately 5 years of reporting/writing/analytical experience;
* Minimum three years experience of advanced price reporting experience in order to effectively manage and develop price coverage in the region
* Strong management skills to develop a large team of editors
* Excellent leadership skills to take the team to a higher level within a very competitive coverage environment
* Solid sense of news to help develop news coverage into right blend of quantity and quality
* Superb strategic ability to help spot opportunities to grow Platts in Asia & Middle East petrochemicals
