The Role
Bloomberg News seeks experienced reporters in Indonesia to join our expanding economy team. The successful candidate will cover breaking news from the finance ministry, parliament and other government departments and be able to immediately transform this into real-time headlines and stories for trading clients. The reporter will work within a high-pressure team environment, in which the delay of a second or less can spell the difference between a win and a loss. They will be expected to propose and write stories that illustrate the economic and political situation to a global audience and their relevance to corporate developments and markets. Responsiblities include attending press briefings and evening events, monitoring other media and writing news summaries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience covering ministries and government departments in Indonesia
- At least two years of post-graduate journalism experience for reporter's role
- Experience working in a real-time news environment is desirable
- Knowledge of the economy, financial markets and business
- Attention to detail
- Fluency in English and B.Indonesia
