The Educational Support Organization (ESO) works on educational and civil projects by different capacity-building activities such as conducting workshops, training courses, and supplying communities, universities, schools and research and cultural centers with books, internet connections and other educational resources. ESO is acquiring a reputation for trust and is well-known in Afghan educational circles since it is familiar with social, political and cultural ties of Afghanistan.

ESO has been providing support to the English Departments at Herat and Kabul universities and has previously provided resources for Samangan University.

Currently, ESO is conducting a project to develop the capacity of English Department in Kandahar University and seeks for qualified academia to work in this project. The successful candidates will work at English Department of Kandahar University as Adjunct Lecturers for the duration of two years.

Responsibilities:

-Teach the students of a B.A Degree in English Language
-Conduct English language sessions according to the curricula
-Take part in grading students using testing methods
-Carryout regular progress tests, with formal tests on the semester basis or as requested by Head of English Department
-Regular reports to be submitted to the Head of English Department, with a formal written report at the end of each month.
-Recording daily activities and students’ attendances
-Perform others duties will be assigned by the Head of English Department

Qualifications:

-University graduate or MA in English Language or relevant degrees
-Proven record in running successful ESL courses
-Trained in teaching English as a foreign language (Potential Teaching Training and Seminar for the Language Teachers)
-At least 2 years of experience in teaching English language
-Experience in teaching all levels from beginner to advanced.
-Experience in teaching literature, linguistics, translation, teaching methodology subjects in a BA Degree level.
-Ability to create and adapt materials to the needs of specific classes.
-Resourcefulness in situations where the expected materials may not be available.
-Independence in his/her preparation and teaching and flexibility in working practices.
