The Macquarie Japanese Studies Centre Scholarship for Australian Citizens (includes journalism, language, humanities)

The Macquarie Japanese Studies (MJS) Centre is offering a full time research scholarship promoting sound high quality teaching and/or practice of Japanese Language and culture in the community. Applicants should have a research interest in: 1) Japanese language and pedagogy; or 2) Japanese area study or study on cross-cultural issues (eg. International relations, environmental science, economics, sociology/anthropology). The applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and may enrol in a research program in any discipline at Macquarie University, however, an associate supervisor must be nominated from the Japanese Studies Department. Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications until November 30, 2010.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years if masters or 3 years if PhD.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Cultural Studies, Journalism, Librarianship and Curatorial Studies, Language and Culture, Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts – General, Sociology, Studies in Human Society or The Arts, etc.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
