The Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism is now accepting applications for its MA Journalism Fellowship at the Ateneo de Manila University (ACFJ), Manila, the Philippines.

The two-year intensive online class designed for working journalists in Asia, would provide the opportunity of spending three weeks in Manila, for the coure courses, and another six weeks on the summer of the second year for cognate courses like film studies, creative writing, social studies, and the likes, depending on the interest of the selected fellow.

There are great possibilities of travels and opportunities to attend conferences, with the aim of learning more, and network and horizon expansion. The fellowship programme which started in 2003, targets full-time journalists in Asia, and has so far been awarded to 105 journalists from 15 Asian countries. Among them are mid-career and senior journalists from Asia's largest dailies including the Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Star (Malaysia), Kompas (Indonesia) and news agencies such as Malaysia's Bernama and the Indonesia's Antara.

Courses in ethics, media law and news writing are the three core courses. A wide array of journalism electives are offered including reporting courses on religions, health, conflict and peace and international affairs. Elective courses include Advanced Computer-assisted Reporting, Media Economics, Media and Politics, Newsroom Management, Investigative Journalism, Writing for Broadcast, Issues in Photojournalism. Also, cognate courses may be chosen from any of the following fields: Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, Natural Sciences, Engineering. Lecturers come from Asia, Australia, U.K., Germany and the U.S.
