Courage in Journalism Competition Open to Iraqi Journalists

Iraqi investigative journalists are invited to submit published works to a Press Courage Awards competition. Deadline to apply: November 28.

Applications are accepted in following categories: print, radio, television and online news. Applicants should be able to prove that their reports impacted the community by serving the public good in some way.

The judging committee will select four winners who will be awarded US$3,000 and a shield which represents journalistic courage, during a ceremony that will take a place in Baghdad on December 12.

The competition is being run by the Baghdad-based Journalistic Freedoms Observatory (JFO), in cooperation with IREX, a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C.
