Lecturer/Assistant Professor - Chinese, Department of Modern Languages, Murray State University. Full-time, 9 month position to begin August 2011; Asst. Professor position is tenure-track.

Qualifications: MA in Chinese Language / Literature or related field. Ph.D. in Chinese language and / or Literature is preferred. ABD's with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered. Ranks commensurate with education and experience. Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native fluency with excellent writing skills in both Chinese and English; have experience teaching Chinese to American undergraduates; possess ability to teach Chinese language, literature, and culture courses at all undergraduate levels. Training and experience with multi-media and using technology in foreign language instruction is desired.

Responsibilities: Teach 9-12 hours per semester at all levels, promote Chinese program across campus, perform research and service at appropriate level, and assist with advising students. For Asst Prof, the position is tenure-track.
