Economists across national and religious divides have acknowledged its potential to help evolve a vibrant economic system free of exploitation and injustices while at the same time fostering entrepreneurship and stimulating production.
Islamic Finance has functioning models in more than seventy countries. Their success has prompted even the Government of India to consider approval of Islamic Finance as one among the solutions to present day problems faced by the Indian economy.
Considering the contemporary relevance of this topic, Al Jamia- Al Islamiya Shantapuram and Islamic Training and Research Institute, a unit of IDB group, Jeddah are organising an INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR on ISLAMIC FINANCE IN INDIA:- PRODUCTS, INSTITUTIONS AND REGULATIONS on 4,5 and 6 October 2010 at Kochi.
An essay competition is being conducted as part of the seminar on the topic :
Islamic Finance in India: Prospects and Challenges.
The competition is open to all Indian citizens.
Ist prize Rs. 25,000
IInd Prize Rs. 15,000
IIIrd prize Rs. 10,000
A hard-copy of the essay or a soft copy in PDF version should reach the following address before 10th September 2010. The essays should be typed and no entry should exceed ten A-4 size pages including graphs and diagrams. The line spacing should be 1.5 and the font not smaller than twelve. The contestants should provide their full postal addresses, occupation details and contact numbers along with the entries.
