Lebanese Poet Shawqi Baze Wins Souq Okaz Award

The Souq Okaz Award aims at heeding classical Arabic poetry and giving appropriate recognition to distinguished poets by granting them the Medal of honor that they deserve through "The Poet of Okaz" Title. The award winner gets 300,000 Saudi Riyals in addition to the shield and cloak of The Okaz Poet. Lebanese Poet Shawqi Baze won this year besting more than 750 Arab poets who were nominated for the award. Baze will read his winning poem and receive the award in the Okaz poetic ceremony which will be held in the Saudi Al-Taif City on September 28th.
