Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is offering six month research fellowship abroad to full time Ph.D. students enrolled in Pakistan to enhance their research capabilities.
The scheme is also assisting ongoing Indigenous Ph.D. programs by providing a mechanism for Ph.D. scholars to travel abroad and conduct research in advanced industrialized countries for a period up to 6 months.
This is providing exposure to the Ph.D. scholars which will enhance the quality of research that they will be conducting in Pakistan. It is also serving to develop linkages between Pakistani and foreign institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Any full time AJK/Pakistani national Ph.D. student:
* Who has complied with the following Higher Education Commission (HEC) quality criteria for Ph.D. degree:
o Passed the GAT test for admission to Ph.D. program,
o Completed coursework of 18 credit hours, at least, (Students enrolled in Ph.D. before July 2005 are exempted from this condition),
o Passed the international GRE subject test (Applicable only for Ph.D. students of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology).
* Who has an approved Ph.D. research topic and synopsis by the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) or Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research (DASR) or equivalent body of the university
* Who has an official acceptance/invitation letter for research from a foreign university/institute/lab. The university/institute must be listed in top 500 universities list as per Times Ranking of World Universities).
* Those Scholars who are already availing any other HEC scholarship are also eligible to apply provided they submit NOC from their concerned HEC dealing officer.
How to Apply?
There is no last date for submission of applications. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as they are eligible and fulfill the basic criteria.
Incomplete applications will not be entertained and will be discarded.

There is no deadline or last date for submission of applications. Applicants can apply whole long the year as soon as they fulfill basic requirements of the scholarship.

* Economy class returns airfare up to Rs 115,000.00.
Living allowance

Bench Fee:
* Maximum amount of bench fee allowed per scheme in different currencies are given in the following table.

The bench fee will be paid to the University directly via wire transfer against the invoice of the amount as mentioned in the offer/invitation letter.
