2010 Australasian Catholic Press Association Annual Awards for Excellence (sponsored by Catholic Church Insurances)
More than 70 delegates and guests gathered at the Mercure Hadleys Hotel, Hobart, to celebrate and honour the best in Catholic media across Australia and The Pacific for 2009-2010.

The Annual ACPA Awards invite entries from more than 100 member publications representing Dioceses, Agencies, Religious orders and Independant journalists to be judged by professional secular media representatives, as the best in their field.

The Conference, held over three days from 1-3 September, brought together delegates from around the country and New Zealand - and included guests from Hong Kong and Fiji.

Guests speakers throughout the program included Barney Zwartz ( Religion Writer The Age); Rose Hesp (Executive Producer ABC TV Compass); Luke Kenny ( Executive Officer Church resources); Christine Hogan (Communications Director Church Resources); Debra Vermeer (independant journalist - Mary MacKillop) and Varcha Sidwell (Award Winnign filmaker - The Abbey and The Mission).

Mass was celebrated in the historic St Joseph's Church, presided by Archbishop Adrian Doyle, who also presented the Awards at the celebratory dinner.
