Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) is again organising an article-writing contest to keep its lecturers active during the Ramadan fasting month which began today.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Aziz Deraman said the contest, which offered cash prizes amounting to RM10,000, covered the writing of manuscripts, articles and journals in various fields.
"We do not want the lecturers to be lethargic during the fasting month but to do more writing," he said to reporters here.
Dr Aziz said the maiden contest held during the fasting month last year had yielded 240 articles in the three categories.
