The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Manipur University will be organizing a spot essay competition as a mark of the United Nations System approach for the International Year of Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding (August 12, 2010- August 11, 2011) and also to celebrate the 41st National Service Scheme (NSS) Day at 11:00 hrs on September 12 at the Department of Commerce, Manipur University. Students studying in TDC and PG Classes are eligible to enter the competition, which will be for 90 minutes. The release further asked the candidates to bring their college university ID cards at the time of appearing for the competition. Prizes will be distributed on the occasion of the 41st Celebration of NSS Day falling on September 24, 2010.

Further, the NSS cell, Manipur University will be organizing a consultation meeting with the Program Officers of the NSS units operating in different colleges of the state under the NSS Cell, MU at 12:00 hrs on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. As per the press release issued by the NSS, the meeting will include discussion on various topics such as the Enrolment of NSS volunteers for the year 201-2011, Annual Report of the Unit, Data base of the NSS activities through Matrix format, Organization of the 41st NSS Day, Agenda for the 6th Manipur University NSS Advisory Committee Meeting, Selection of volunteers for the PRD camp and AOB. All Program Officers are requested to attend the meeting and participate actively in the meeting without fail.
