Like A Drop of Water’s writing contest offers young people, ages 8 - 17, worldwide the opportunity to share their ideas on how they and their countries can reduce global warming and pollution. Beginning in June 2010, 6 or more awards of US$50-$100 will be awarded monthly through 2015. Each year the top 50 essays will be sent to the White House (in Washington, DC, in the United States) and made available to governments across the world. Bi-yearly, the 100 winning essays will be published as an e-book for worldwide distribution.
Visitors to the Like a Drop of Water website can learn facts about climate change, take part in blogs, and submit essays in English of 400 words or fewer. Those who send in their writing receive an acknowledging email, a downloadable certificate of participation, and the opportunity to have their essay selected as one of the monthly winning essays.

2. All essays and entry information must be in English.
3. All entries become the property of Like A Drop of Water, Inc.
4. Essays are to be 400 words or less.
5. Winners will be notified by email and will be required to submit the following information.
Full name of entrant and age.
Name of sponsoring adult.
Complete mailing address.
6. With the sponsoring adult's permission the winner's essay and name will be posted on the website.
7. Teachers and their classes may submit a collaborative entry.
8. No personal information received will be given away, sold or in any way transferred to another company or individual without the express written consent of the sponsoring adult.
