The Faigao Memorial Annual Writers Workshop of Cebu will be held this year at the Talamban Retreat House of the University of San Carlos from 29-31 October 2010.
The workshop, named after the poet Cornelio Faigao, is now in its 26th year. Many of its alumni have received writing grants or prizes, among them Ernie Lariosa, Don Pagusara, Erma Cuizon, Tem Adlawan, Gremer Chan Reyes, Carlos Cortes, Lam Ceballos, Ester Tapia, Myke Obenieta, Adonis Durado, Cora Almerino, Yul Aparece, Bambi Beltran, Januar Yap, Arlaine Obenieta, Cindy Velasquez, Jona Bering and Dindin Villarino.
Fifteen slots are reserved for writing fellows selected from among applicants who are asked to submit entries in Cebuano or English – a short story, 3 poems or 1 short play.
Among the regular workshop panelists are three who will also serve this year: Resil Mojares, Merlie Alunan and Linda Alburo.
