Q: When will I be able to submit a proposal for a presentation at DC2011?

A. The Call for Papers for the 31st IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy (DC2011) will open on October 17, 2010, and close on January 15, 2011.

Q. How will I be able to submit my proposal?

A. Proposal submissions will be made electronically through this website, www.dc2011.org. Select the "Call for Papers" tab and select "Submit a Proposal" to begin. Read the directions carefully.

Q. What are the themes that the programs will focus on?

Some suggested themes:

– Immigration and migration patterns
– Surname adoption and naming patterns
– Jewish music, theater, art, literature and food
– Jewish funeral practices and cemeteries

* Jewish philately and/or postcards
* Genetics and DNA
* Newspapers and the Jewish Press as research sources
* Evening entertainment
