Come December 25 and Thane will be seen immersing itself in the literary fever as it hosts the 84th Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. The Sammelan will begin with a procession of Marathi literature called 'Granth Dindi' which will pass through the entire district. There will also be a book exhibition and a forum for those who wish to launch their books. Various discussions will be held on a myriad range of topics such as Marathi Cinema, literature on adivasi, in audio and visual sector, Science and Marathi among others.
The organisation has planned several activities and interested participants can enrol their names to Vidyadhar Thanekar before August 14. Marathi Granth Sangrahalaya too can be contacted for the same. The highlight of the Sammelan is the launch of a website to keep the literature lovers posted on the Sammelan. The elections to elect the president will be held on September 28 and the verdict will be out on September 29.
