Submission Guidelines
- All submissions should in some way relate to the issue theme. This is very open to interpretation.
- E-mail submissions to submit@speakeasyseoul.com.
- Place Issue Theme and Submission Genre in the subject line.
- Include a contributor bio of 40 words or less.
- Please, no more than 3 submissions per person per issue.
- Submissions that include translations are encouraged.
Writing
- E-mail submissions as Word doc attachments.
- Prose: 1,500 words maximum
- Poetry: 1 page maximum
Artwork
- E-mail submissions as high res (300+ dpi) jpg attachments.
- Submissions must fit on a 22 x 21 cm page.
Accepted content may be placed online and translated unless otherwise specified.
What is Speakeasy?
Speakeasy is Seoul’s only publication to feature creative work by both Koreans and expats, and to feature that content in translation in order to carry writing and art across linguistic and cultural barriers. Each issue is given a theme so that the magazine becomes not just a venue but a conversation within the community. Speakeasy is always looking to showcase new and original voices, so add yours by submitting today.
