Thresholds: Home of the International Postgraduate Short Story Forum is a new, online space where people can come together to discuss various aspects of the short story form. We are now accepting submissions for our Featured Writer series.
Thresholds: Home of the International Postgraduate Short Story Forum is a new, online space where people can come together to discuss various aspects of the short story form.
The site, which will be launched in September, is aimed specifically at MA and PhD students undertaking academic research of a practical or theoretical nature.
The forum will provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences as writers and academics, test ideas, give and receive feedback, and exchange advice and information.
It will include a blog, workshop activities, and live question and answer sessions with professionals in the writing and publishing community.
We are currently looking for people, able to commit to at least one posting per month, to join our team of bloggers. Those interested should contact Loree Westron at loreewestron@hotmail.com.
Call for Submissions:
We are now accepting submissions for our Featured Writer series. Articles should be no more than 800 words and include the following:
· Biographical information about the writer in question;
· An overview of his or her career as a short story writer;
· Critical acclaim;
· References to style or other prominent features of the writer’s work;
· Influences or impact that the writer has had on the literary community;
· Your personal response to the writer’s work.
The Featured Writer series will be ongoing, but for this first call our deadline is 31st August.
