The British Institute - National Writing Competition 2010 (Indonesia)
The British Institute (TBI) would like to introduce a national writing competition. TBI is now calling for entries for a topical essay writing competition titled “The Green Generation-Speak to your World” as a part of the nationwide 2010 TBI theme “Speaks to the World”. The competition is open to all budding writers in Indonesia and will fall into the following categories: 13-16 years and 17-25 years. The search is on for stories that share inspiring ideas and thoughts on awareness of youth on today’s environmental concerns.

TBI has chosen 'The Green Generation-Speak to Your World’ as the topic because a greener world is an international concern and is a hot topic among the youth of today. With this topic we would like to listen to the voices and visions of the youth of today on how they perceive the environmental aspects of today’s society. We can use this topic to show love for the environment through writing and provide an opportunity for the "green" generation to voice themselves.

The winners will be selected by a judging panel comprising of teachers from the different TBI schools in Indonesia. Their feedback alone makes it worth participating in.

The jury’s decision will be based on creativity, content, appropriateness, language accuracy and overall like ability.

The closing date for entry submission is on 20 August 2010, and winners will be announced on 11 October 2010. For more information and/or to enter the contest, please visit www.tbi.co.id.
