Singapore Book Club: In Conversation with Adeline Foo, Lim Fong Wei and Sangeetha Madhavan
Join us in July as we discuss Adeline’s latest children’s book Georgette’s Mooncakes, translated into Chinese by Lim Fong Wei.

Speakers:

Adeline Foo is a mother of three and a published children’s book author. She has written 15 books, with The Diary of Amos Lee making it to the national top ten best sellers’ list. Adeline has worked 15 years in corporate public relations and advertising before becoming a stay home mum. She is currently on a government scholarship, pursuing her MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Asia.

Lim Fong Wei is a bilingual lifestyle journalist and editor for Lianhe Zaobao zbNOW and the award-winning bilingual magazine ZbBz. A film graduate from Boston University, he has shown his short films at festivals and the Harvard Film Archive. He is a lover and avid collector of children’s literature.

Sangeetha Madhavan is a freelance writer and editor with a keen interest in the arts, culture, media and travel. Her picture book A Blue Cat’s Tale (Straits Times Press) was published under the First Time Writers and Illustrators Publishing Initiative 2008. Five of her short stories, commissioned by the Ministry of Education Singapore, will appear on a web portal for children in 2010. Sangeetha also blogs on books and theatre for children at mamasez.squarespace.com.
