Entry rules
We are looking for an innovative piece of science journalism, 850 words in length (maximum), that fits one of the following categories:
(1) Your ‘scientific’ autobiography or most significant (either good or bad) career moment to date;
(2) A discussion of an issue that is, or should be, of current significance to the scientific (particularly materials science) community;
(3) A profile of a scientific hero – a teacher, tutor, mentor, historical or current scientist – who has been important to you.
Style
A short title or headline should be included.
All acronyms should be given in full the first time they appear in text.
Chemical formula should be used where commonly known, otherwise name should be given in full together with formula.
US spelling and SI units should be used throughout.
Your entry, together with your name, short bio., and contact details (including full address and email), date of birth, and wordcount should be emailed to: materialstoday@elsevier.com and clearly labeled ‘Write for Materials Today’.
· All entries must be received by October 26th 2010.
· Entries will be judged by the Materials Today team. The judges’ decision is final.
