KTVR Group Hospital will conduct on June 13 an essay writing competition on the topic “Diabetes – Why it is Important”. Students in the 14 to 18 age group can participate.
The contest will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at KTVR Knowledge Park for Engineering and Technology at Madhampalayam on Mettupalayam Road, the hospital said in a press release on Monday.
Consultant Diabetologist at the hospital J. Vijay Venkataraman said the competition was being organised to educate the students on what caused the disease and what were the complications.
The winners of the first three spots would get a cash prize of Rs.10,000, Rs.7,500, Rs.5,000 respectively.
Entry forms could be obtained from the hospital on Narayana Guru Road at Saibaba Colony. The filled-in forms could be submitted to the Organising Secretary, Diabetes Essay-writing Contest 2010, at the hospital on or before June 12 (by 6 p.m.).
