Call for Submissions: Chick Lit and Women’s Fiction
We are launching this summer – launch with us!!

This round of entries are due: July 1, 2010

We are looking for short stories (250 to 2,500 words, please) in the category of Chick Lit and Women’s Fiction. Women’s Fiction usually doesn’t require any explanations, but we know you might be wondering, what’s Chick Lit? Well you know those movies that are referred to as “Chick Flicks”? Same idea, except literature vs movies. (Some examples include Sex and The City, The Devil Wears Prada, Confessions of a Shopoholic, etc.) Basically, witty stories targeted towards — you guessed it — chicks!

Please submit all stories to Submissions [at] ChickLitShorties [dot] com.*

A great way to add another (or your first!) publication to your resume, as well as receiving some exposure.

The logistics:

1. By submitting an entry you acknowledge that you are the author and this is your original work, and you are granting us the right to publish it on our site.
2. Send all stories as part of the email text, or in PDF format. No other attachment types will be opened.
3. Word count should be 250 to 2500 words. (If you don’t fall within those limits but are dying to publish with us, go ahead and plead your case – just make it good.)
4. Multiple submissions are accepted, but please send each story as a separate email.
5. We do not accept work that has already been published, sorry. So if you’ve submitted your story somewhere else, please wait until you have confirmation that it will not be published elsewhere before submitting to us. Hey, we wanna be proud when we show off your work, so can you blame us for wanting to be the only ones who have it?
6. Although entries are considered on a rolling basis, with this round due July 1st, the sooner you submit, the greater chance you have for launch consideration!
7. One last thing: we look forward to reading what you’ve got!
