Paying Market: Apron Strings
Payment will be agreed with author prior to publication. At present we are looking at approx €60 - €100 per essay, depending on length. For commissioned pieces such as book reviews and longer feature articles, we will discuss these with individual writers.

Please e-mail submissions as a Microsoft Word document to ssmith3@ireland.com with “Submission” as subject heading.

· Personal essays to be of length 800—4000 words. We are looking for original, insightful works which avoid the bland clichés at all costs…

· For feature articles (up to 6000 words), please submit outline ideas along with CV / portfolio details.

· Fiction (up to 4500 words) - we welcome pieces in the short story format but it’s really the personal essays that make up the bulk of this publication. We only plan to include one fictional piece per issue.

· Work submitted will be held on file until such a time as it may be used, the author being consulted prior to publication.

· ApronStrings welcomes submissions from Irish and International writers.

· We will accept submissions from the original author of the articles or a publicist hired by the copyright owner.

· Copyright remains at all times with the author or original copyright holder. The copyright holder acknowledges that ApronStrings may use the submission in a print version of the magazine. Some work may be selected for use in future versions of the ApronStrings website and any place content from ApronStrings is used (e.g. advertising and press releases).

· We need to be informed if a piece of work has been published elsewhere previously.

· Work is submitted on the understanding that there is no guarantee it will be used.
